Welcome to the Last Minute Records home page. We're a small label in Chicago, IL with releases and connections to artists in the midwest and around the country. Thought we've been relatively inactive in the past several years, we're gearing back up with new projects and new friends. We're excited to announce the release of Ten Speed's new record titled Firewater Pinhole Camera. It took alot more time and effort than anyone anticipated, but it's a wild record and we're excited to be releasing it to said wild. We're excited and proud to be adding ten-speed to the Last Minute family, and in conjunction with the Block of Wood Recording Company, hope to be working together on many new projects.

ten-speed has been known to describe themselves as functional nostalgia in song-like vehicles (or something like that). Their music hints at folks like Guided By Voices and Nuetral Milk Hotel combined with a sort of punk rock ethic and early Dischord influences. The new record was recorded over a period of months in various basements around chicago, was mixed at Pragma Studios and mastered by Saff Mastering. It now sees the light of day while the band moves on to new material, out of the moldy basements, breathing fresh air again.

ten-speed is playing alot of shows in and around the Chicago area, including occaisional forays out into the wider world. For more news about those shows, new music and developments in the band, check out Ten Speed's myspace for more info.

Perhaps a subtle response (tinged with no small amount of irony) to 2001's Stagnation in Progress, the new relative EP, The Progress of Stagnation is out and available for mail order and at shows for $6PPD. After 5 years, two major relocations, and losing all their equipment relative is back and reflecting on our own history and future in six songs written on and off across that period. With artwork by Brians brother Brad and the best work we've done in the studio yet, this is definitely worth checking out.

relative will be playing shows in and around Chicago... they hope to be touring again by springtime, in the meantime they're focusing on writing and possibly recording smaller projects in preparation for another release. They want to thank friends and family for sticking by them through the long periods of downtime.

In Last Minute corporate news there is a big announcement for all you ameriCON fans out there! Yes, ameriCON incorporated USA has made another step towards global domination with its big entrance into the print world. This quarter ameriCON cultural value rose ten points after CEO Brad Busenius negotiated the cover of Direct Art Magazine. Inside the magazine the ameriCON line of branding is featured in a five page article. If you're interested the magazine can be picked up at Borders bookstore.
